about

If you are interested, im doing some run throughs for the album songs. Here is for track 1

The Water's Edge (Keflavik) may ruin the chronological hopes of this album's story, but to me Jack Grimes' instrumental contribution was perfect for an opener to this album. And the lyrics (listed below) are speaking from the middle of the story to "lay the scene" so to speak.

This song is about the time when she was first going into the hospital for what would ultimately be the last time. And everyone was saying how she was going to be OK. They were very positive and encouraging. My Mom was a seasoned pro at ER visits and I was used to taking her there or meeting her there. But I had a slightly different feeling about this time, that I just couldn't shake. At first I felt guilty honestly that I thought I didn't hold the same hope as they did. Like, did i want that for her? And if so how should I feel about that. Or did I want her to go on living with severe quality of life downgrades? On top of all of that, I just wanted to talk to her,

This poem was written during one of those moments of pondering, at the foot of her hospital bed. While others were talking about possible surgeries and treatments. I was at the water's edge trying to talk with my mom

Jack Grimes wrote the instrumental for this piece. The dude is simply amazing. Check out his solo stuff here soundcloud.com/jackgrimesmusic

Fun Fact about this song Tim Bubb was who I envisioned singing (check out his stuff with VELA and ToTheArk), but unfortunately our schedules couldn't line up. so I had to take a crack at it.
Thanks to Amilcar for his patience with my attempts to croon

lyrics

Again we are at the water's edge
I know the time is closing in
I can sense the wind
slowly pulling you away
Away from the land of the living
Out onto eternity's peaceful waves
I feel it in my heart you are leaving
Though we've walked here before
It may not be right this moment
But the breeze tells me
that we won't have too many moments more
And the mist like sorrow,
like none I've owned begins to fill my chest
As I think of the moments borrowed
While hoping there is still some left
